Golden Globes 2016 – The Truly Glamorous Looks
My favorite looks from the Golden Globes this year are those with sleek lines, interesting architectural details, and those that, regardless of silhouette, convey the understated glamour and sophistication that is my fantasy of Hollywood.

My #1 pick for Hollywood glamour and sophistication is Jennifer Lawrence in a red Dior Couture gown. The gown is impactful while being understated. The panel covering her abs while highlighting the obliques is sexy and unexpected, and the inversed curve of the top panel hits her silhouette in the perfect spot to emphasize the beauty of her body. Simple and breathtakingly elegant.

Second place is Kirsten Dunst in black Valentino. Who knew three tiny bands of string so perfectly placed could say so much?

Third place is a tie for showcasing their looks in white so well, and proving that you don’t have to show skin to be sexy. White is a statement in and of itself, and both Jane Fonda and Laverne Cox used it to their spectacular advantage. Jane Fonda conveyed her sophistication and confidence in a slim white YSL by Hedi Slimane gown with ruffled plumage that makes her look like royalty. Laverne Cox in Elizabeth Kennedy achieved perfect effortlessness with a draping train and deep V back.
None of these looks are asking for anything or are trying too hard; they simply exist in beauty and elevate the grandeur and presence of the women wearing them.
Glamour is in the thoughtful details that appear effortless. Definitely something we believe in and strive for at Gurjot New York. What aspects of Hollywood glamour can you incorporate into your work wardrobe this season?
